An independent registered charity providing specialist education and training for young people with physical disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Students may have associated learning, sensory, emotional, medical and behavioural difficulties
160 full time students from across the UK, aged 16 to 25. We also offer a range of courses to over 200 adults with physical disabilities in Gloucestershire.
Students focus on developing skills in order to take control over the quality of their lives. These include personal development, literacy, numeracy and communication skills, emplyability, mobility, therapy and transition planning.
Learning programmes offered include Skills for Adult Life and Skills for Working Life , Business, Leisure & Tourism, Creative Arts, Information Technology, Performing Arts, Sport & Recreation and Health & Social Care.
Specialist staff support students in the classroom and within residences. In addition there is a nursing team, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists clinical psychologists and behavioural support.
As well as campus accommodation including independence flats, there are student residences in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
But it's not all work! There are many clubs, social activities and sports available to students in the evening and at weekends.
